This is one of my favourite places in Dorset to paint it’s soft colourful Purbeck hills and the earthy estuary with little pools and channels of light.

The Purbeck hills this time of year are like the heath below full of colour and vegetation in the misty,delicate,light.

Our art journey took us to the Arne and Coombe heath yesterday .The golden grasses shimmered on the purple heath and the view of the estuary ,Rempstone forest and the Purbeck hills beyond.

Is a hidden gem tucked away on the edge of Coombe heath it sparkles when the light hits the lake and it’s covered with yellow king cups ,blades of marsh grasses and bull rushes.

Looking across the water from Arne it was a calm earthy view that I wanted to reflect back into my scene.

Mum and I go down to the dorset heath a lot we just can’t resist as the landscape is so different to north dorset .
