The sika deer at Arne were grazing in the water meadows by the edge of Coombe heath.They had there young and were very amused by my presence and iPad which has a bright red cover good job it wasn’t a bull.

Our art journey took us to the Arne and Coombe heath yesterday .The golden grasses shimmered on the purple heath and the view of the estuary ,Rempstone forest and the Purbeck hills beyond.

Gorse,the colour of sunshine covers the heath as far as the eye can see.Goldfinches dart in and out,the elusive Dartford Warbler is not to be seen-but the swallows are here and two swallows do make a summer!
