Ancient ,sacred,burial ,ground .There I was surrounded by layers of history within the west hill side . Many old yew trees still stand here from medieval times.

I drew up the blind from my attic bedroom and what do I see but the most atmospheric sunrise across the sky over the misty ,alluring ,softness of the vale of Wincombe below.

Last evening watched,stood,admired and waited for the sun to drop down parallel to Duncliffe ancient hill covered in trees .The picture was taken from castle hill and where the castle once stood in Shaftesbury ,dorset.

The delicate colours of the wild flowers,bluebells,campions ,ragged robin & bugles are even more beautiful than the showy blooms of the azaleas .

When I look from my kitchen window beyond is the ancient woodland of Wincombe woods I can over to the wiltshire border and this band of trees have been here for decades.
